On October 25, 2014, Larissa Leclair was honored with the Spotlight Award from the Griffin Museum of Photography in Boston, Massachusetts. The award was presented by her former Yale professor Dr. Laura Wexler. The Focus Awards at the Griffin recognize individuals making critical contributions to the promotion, curation and presentation of photography. The awards this year celebrate four people and organizations instrumental in building greater awareness of the photographic arts in the general public. The Spotlight Award is given to an entity that consistently shines a light on photography and has created a far reaching impact in the field. Jim Dow, Dr. Becky Senf, and Elin Spring were also honored this year. Previous recipients include Deborah Willis, Anne Wilkes Tucker, Kathy Ryan, Shane Lavalette, Jen Bekman, among others.
